Revered by many anthropologists as the 'cradle of humanity', Kenya is an exciting and fascinating country.

If you're adventurous - and sensible - it promises the globe's most magnificent wildlife parks, unsullied beaches, thriving coral reefs, memorable mountainscapes and ancient Swahili cities.

The Masai Mara is one of the world's greatest wildlife destinations and not much beats the exhilaration of seeing the Great Wildebeest Migration when the herds arrive around September, staying until December. The land simply beats to the drum of thousands of hoofs - a jaw dropping experience for even the most seasoned safari traveller.

The Masai Mara is quite simply the kind of thing you thought only existed in literature or a in a Hollywood film. But it's real as it gets and you can experience this on a Masai Mara safari trip where the wildlife takes centre stage

The reserve is unfenced and its southern border is the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Both countries share the huge Serengeti plains, where the wildlife is free to roam between Kenya and Tanzania in search of good grazing - or their prey...

But if you can't make it for the migration, no problem as the Masai Mara experience at at any time of year is just stunning. And don't forget you can combine a family or couples safari trip with a beach stay in Kenya - what could be better!
