Accommodation

Throughout Southern Africa as well as other destinations in Africa we like to be able to offer our clients a choice so that you are able to decide what best suits you from a location, financial and security point of view.

On this basis we offer hotels (both standard and boutique), Guest Houses/Lodges, and self catering villas/apartments.

Hotels

Hotels are graded from 1Star (*) up to 5 Star (*) and within these categories there are quite wide variations so its always worth asking us for advice on the differences if you,re unsure. As a general rule you will see in our accommodation section that we list 5*, 4* and other but again, there are too many to mention so it may be that we will suggest somewhere that isn't on our listing or indeed that you may have been told of a place that we haven't listed. Some places like The Palace of the Lost City are more like a 5* deluxe hotel and the price per room or person will reflect this.

When deciding where you might want to stay, we'll provide you with information regarding hotels on the basis that this should give you pretty good idea as to what to expect from a particular property. In some instances, choice of hotel may be limited due to the area you are in i.e. if you're playing golf at Arabella (one of the top courses in South Africa) you may well want to stay at the Arabella Western Cape Spa which is on the course because it is convenient and saves you having to travel all the time.

Guest Houses/Lodges

Guest house and Lodge accommodation is a very affordable option and very impressive. We have personally stayed at many of the places that we recommend and they are equivalent to four and five star hotel rooms but with that personal touch. Staying at these places gives you the opportunity to mix with local residents and find out much more about the South African way of life. Quite often they will only comprise of 3 or 4 rooms but some of the lodges may have up to 20 rooms and suites available. All offer breakfast included in the price. They are generally situated just outside of the town that they are part of, and this appeals to many of our clients as they find it much more of a relaxing way of spending their vacation time.

Self catering villas/houses

An ideal option if there are several couples traveling together or medium to large families. These properties have been hand picked by ourselves and all are highly recommended. For the Villas, accommodation is usually on a weekly basis but does provide an excellent base to operate from when exploring the specific area you are in. This is particularly so when wanting to travel in Africa's summer season between November and February. Whilst they are generally self catering, we are able to arrange full time chefs, butlers, maids etc. An alternative option is self catering apartments such as those situated in the Cape Town V & A Waterfront. These can be 1, 2, 3 or even 4 bed room units. We are also able to offer these types of units on many of the 'estate' golf courses.

Whatever you decide, we’ll make sure that it’s excellent value for money.
